Ahora con el regreso de los Transformers, encontramos la imagen de los robots en cualquier parte del mundo: cines, tiendas, edificios, jugueterías, vasos, platos, playeras, etc. Probablemente no recuerden todos los nombres de los personajes, pero si escuchan o leen el nombre “Optimus Prime” sé que lo relacionarán como uno de ellos. Aunque parezca raro, no quiero hablar sobre la película y sus personajes, pero sí de Optimus Prime.
Hay muchas bandas de música que van y vienen en
Optimus Prime no es una banda pretenciosa, como muchas, que trata de captar la atención de niños sentimentales que fingen escuchar rock y punk. Su música es sencilla: canciones con buen ritmo, riffs potentes, requintos que, por momentos, nos recuerdan el Glam Rock, y un bajeo enamorado del Jazz, pero perteneciente al Hard Core. Es una banda en ascenso que todavía no ha logrado estar presente en las cabezas del público mexicano. No ha tenido la oportunidad de tener una “gran” gira en su propio país, pero su música los ha llevado a tocar en Canadá (julio-2007) en donde compartirá el escenario con grupos locales de dicho país y algunos más reconocidos (Deftones, Killswitch Engage, entre otros).
No sé ustedes, pero creo que deberíamos escuchar un poco más a esta banda y descubrir por qué es mejor reconocida en otros países.
